‘Storm Morning Olinda Reserve’ 2021
Acrylic on ecoply board
Framed 124 x 84cm

(After the June 9 Storm)
Trees fell like toothpicks on Wednesday night, all through the forest, all over the Ranges, over the roads, cars and houses.
It was devastating. After two weeks of lockdown, this storm hit with rage and fury, and as we enter a different type of lockdown without power, internet or phone, we have a lot to be thankful for. Miraculoulsy no one died.
Locals are banding together to share food, power banks, hot water and generators. We’re trying to organise dry firewood donations and drop off points, and how to reach vulnerable community members.
It will be a long while before we see you on the mountain - there’s a lot of work to do.
