‘Above and Below, Dark’ 2022
Watercolour and goauche on handmade Japanese paper

Framed 35 x 28cm

The contrasts in our world sometimes seem too far apart to reconcile, but lately I've noticed many opposites occuring simultaneously. Traumatic events are unfolding all around us, in the forest, in extreme weather, in waring countries. But there is also beauty and selflessness and renewal that exists alongside the destruction.  This fractal geometry is all around us, and signifies not only growth, but order, even in a chaotic world. Precious metals have been revered for centuries, and signify the value we place on things, and this work, reminds us we have the ability to choose what we value.

This painting comes framed and ready to hang.
